Learn more about George McMann
George McMann has spent much of his life investing in the next generation. With more than 20 years of experience serving in children's and youth ministry, he has always been passionate about helping young people grow in character, faith, and confidence.
Before Red Wagon Stories
Long before becoming a published author, George wrote a children's story and set the manuscript aside. Like many creative projects, it remained tucked away for years while life, family, and ministry took center stage. Everything changed when his son discovered the manuscript and encouraged him to share it with others.
That simple encouragement sparked a new chapter in George's life.
In 2023, George published his first children's book, Detective Brett and Casey Caper: The Mystery of the Red Wagon. He later released Little Henry Helper and has continued developing stories that entertain children while teaching valuable life lessons. His book Willy the Worm was published through Panthera Publishing in Stuart, Florida.
The Founding of Red Wagon Stories
Inspired by the response from readers and families, George founded Red Wagon Stories to create books that help children develop qualities such as kindness, honesty, compassion, perseverance, forgiveness, and love. Many of his stories are influenced by biblical principles and timeless truths, presented in ways that are engaging, relatable, and accessible for young readers.
George Continues to Serve the Community
Today, George is an active member of the children's book community. He participates in school book drives, author events, conventions, classroom visits, and library reading programs, where he enjoys sharing stories and encouraging a love of reading. Meeting young readers and seeing their excitement for books remains one of the most rewarding parts of his work.
George serves as Chapter President of the St. Lucie County chapter of Authors' Roundtable of Florida. He is also a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) and the Florida Parent-Educators Association (FPEA).
When he's not writing, George continues to seek new ways to encourage children and families through storytelling. His goal is simple: to create books that entertain, inspire, and leave a lasting positive impact on the lives of young readers.
